Contributing

Feel like giving something back? Any and all contributions to Prevayler are, of course, gladly welcome.

Prevayler developers use and adopt the principles of Extreme Programming: simplicity, communication, feedback and courage. We tend to put an even stronger focus on simplicity, both conceptually and implementation-wise. Actually, more "features" have been removed from Prevayler than there are features in Prevayler, and we consider this a very important assertion. Simplicity is what makes Prevayler easy to use, to customize and extend, and these are our primary features.

That said:

We prefer... Over...
Patches in Jira Lumps of code sent to the Mailing Lists
Bug reports "My code doesn't work, it's your fault!"
Unit tests A description of a bug
Self-documented code 3+ pages of Javadoc for an incomprehensible method

Of course, every case is a different one, and this table serves just to illustrate our preferences regarding contributions to the Prevayler codebase. Keep in mind that contributions to this website, articles and documentation are welcome in every format, and will be, just as the code, kindly reviewed by one or more developers before full acceptance.

If you intend to donate financial resources to the project, please consider donating to the Codehaus using the PayPal account, or contact us directly for other options.
